The TriCounty Oil & Gas Expo will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 19 at the Washington County Fairgrounds. More than 300 indoor and outdoor exhibitors will display their businesses and describe their roles in the Marcellus gas and coal industries.

The public is welcome, and parking is free. Limited space is still available for exhibitors.

A directory of businesses and organizations active in the Marcellus will be distributed to participants. The Tri-County Oil and Gas Directory is a comprehensive list of local businesses associated with the industry. A registration form, including rates and sizes, is available on the website at www.tricountyoilandgasexpo.com. Last year, 7,500 directories were produced and distributed in the tri-state area. The last day to place an ad in the directory is Thursday.

This year, exhibitors will be invited to attend a special evening of entertainment, dinner and networking on May 18 at the fairgrounds.

The TriCounty Oil & Gas Expo is a nonprofit effort seeking to create opportunities for local businesses and people in the energy industry. Pat McCune, president of the group, explained that "the Gas Expo committee is composed of numerous volunteers from both the private and public sectors. We have held over a dozen events designed to educate the public, network businesses and help job seekers find work in the energy industry.

"Forty years after the decline of the steel industry, we want our local citizens and communities to have a chance to benefit from responsible development of our nation's energy resources."
